The first ever meeting of Agent Graves and Dizzy Cordova, the two main characters in Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso's Eisner Award-winning series, 100 Bullets. This was one of the last two of the many Rissos I picked up at Comic-Con 2002. I tried to bring it to the DC booth, where Eduardo and Brian Azzarello were signing things, but I was too late. Enrico Salvini came to the rescue, though. I was very worried about where Eduardo might put his pictogram-like signature, but as you can see, he found a spot that fit on the page perfectly. |
The other of the last two Rissos I bought at Comic-Con, 2002. I chose this one more for the art, whereas I chose p. 6 for the historic meeting it portrays. From the full figure of Dizzy in the first panel to the aerial view of the interior of the garage, to the car in the dark alley to the weird scene where one of the guys behind Dizzy looks like he's gonna club her with a crow bar, what's not to like about this page? I didn't ask Eduardo to sign it, because the one place a signature would make sense has blue pencil correction marks on it that I didn't want obscured. |
This might be my favorite 100 Bullets page. When it showed up for sale on Enrico's Web site, i jumped at it, only to find it on hold for someone else. However a couple weeks later, it was back for sale. Not believing my eyes, I sent Enrico an email and ordered it. Picked it up first thing on Preview Night, at San Diego 2002. Gads, I'm a sucker for Risso's aerial views., and this one featuring Dizzy with the magic gun is a classic. Of course, the 100 Bullets logo is another plus. |

Another 100b opening page, one of four in my collection. The logo and credits are in B&W and are actually on an overlay on the original, but I thought it'd be a kick to recreate the way the logo printed in the comic. Gotta love that stained glass window in the background. Technically, this is the first page Mr. Sheppard appears on, but it's only his legs and hands, so it doesn't count <chuckle>. |

Another classic page--two full figures of an armed and very ticked off Dizzy Cordova getting ready to blast her own brother. I just love the silhouettes on this page, which like most of the 100b pages I bought at SD is signed by both Risso and Azzarello (the latter is, unfortunately, cut off in this scan). |
