I've long wanted a representitive piece by John Severin, so when Ruben Azcona put this twice-up splash from 1957 on eBay, I grabbed it. You'll notice the thought balloon has been cut out and repositioned. Some might think this a flaw, but I think it adds character. I originally thought there was text missing from the balloon, but John Severin Jr. got in touch and pointed out the text was simply repositioned to fill out the balloon, somehting he's seen John Sr. do "hundreds of times."
